missed the change of the month…. signal good here02/02/2017 at 9:34 am #35256
lets hope it continues02/02/2017 at 9:50 am #35258
Not awake yet! You’re right Monty so moved my post as follows to correct month:
Sorry no longer able to post my CNR plots on Robs but here are some spot values of 6 transponders measured at midday on 1st February 2016 and 2017 respectively:
10758V: 15,4 – 15,5 dB
10847V: 14,8 – 14,4 dB
10964H: 15,2 – 15,4 dB
10994H: 14,3 – 14,7 dB
11097V: 13,4 – 13,4 dB
11126V: 13,8 – 14,3 dB
2017 values generally slightly higher but effectively no real difference. I will do another spot check at 8pm today.02/02/2017 at 10:36 am #35260
Derek ..can you add 12304 , H ,27500, 5/6 (Kiss) and 12129 ,V, 27500, 2/3 (Drama) to your list? …these two are easily my weakest channels …about 20-30% weaker than others ….or is it just my setup?02/02/2017 at 7:56 pm #35266
Hi Steve, here is the 8pm news. I’ve added Drama and Kiss to my list but obviously I’m not able to give you the 2016 numbers…
10758V: 13,4 – 13,0 dB
10847V: 12,8 – 12,0 dB
10964H: 13,2 – 12,5 dB
10994H: 12,6 – 14,7 dB
11097V: 12,3 – 10,7 dB
11126V: 12,3 – 11,7 dB
2017 midday signal yesterday was slightly stronger than 2016 whilst today it is weaker than 2016 at 8pm. This could reflect fact that it’s raining this evening, possibly having a negative effect on today’s signal.
Anyway Steve, you can see that Drama is 2,5 dB weaker than the best of the rest whilst the difference for Kiss is a whopping 3,5 dB, equivalent to the difference in gain between a 100cm and 150cm dish.So unlikely that your setup is the problem 🙂 .03/02/2017 at 10:21 am #35268
Thanks for testing ,Drama and kiss frequencies Derek…., at least i know its not my setup !…
wonder why Kiss is so weak? …maybe its high frequency?
Looking at your list …as the Frequency goes up ..the signal seems to drop……lucky the main channels are lower numbers!………
Signal ok here …but not as good as last week……07/02/2017 at 4:05 pm #35271
Hi all – missed seeing the reports for a while but nice to hear from you Derek.
All ok here in North of Germany with some very high C/N values in January and Feb ITV HD drops to around 30 at 1900 hrs and seems to be the weekest signal

Hi Terry, good to know you are still out there!!
As you may have seen from some previous exchanges, it’s no longer possible to post attachments on this forum. The best I can do is to share a list of numbers as above but unfortunately this is not a real substitute to the plots.
However, with the signal being so high at the moment, must not complain – just hope it lasts as long as poss!!08/02/2017 at 11:03 am #35275
Nice to hear from you Derek – hope you are well. My plumbing is working but the treatment can’t be recommended!
its a pity that we can’t see your charts, the changes to to site seem to have had a negative effect in terms of people reporting or it is a sign that transmissions have now settled. For me the signal is good all last year except in June July and August had pixelation on ITV HD. SD is always available15/02/2017 at 8:34 am #35281
Is anyone having trouble receiving 4seven or Box Hits?
These channels have gone following very severe winds here a few days ago, but strangely all the other transponders I monitor are still at the same strength, so I’m not sure now if the dish has moved during the storms.15/02/2017 at 9:19 am #35285
4/7 ok here…. the winds were mad…and i have had reports this morning of dishes being moved from your area north and east of carcassonne from my mate at digitvsolutions. it could just be a small movement..15/02/2017 at 9:22 am #35287
another annoying piece of news i have been made aware of… Opticum have changed the ‘spec’ of the 2x and 4x lnbs, that have worked so well for many years.. they still go under the same part number but according to my source they are now pretty useless so difficult to try and source the ‘old’ model…15/02/2017 at 10:06 am #35291
Re Opticum LNB…..Are your talking about the “red label / Gold connector” version…….yes they are different …the power output is too high! .. but great for a long cable run…(70-90 meters)
a inline attenuator sorted the prob for me with the new Red Label /gold connector Opticums!…. on my receivers close to the dish (20-30 meters or so)!….I have fitted them at the receiver signal in connection ,15/02/2017 at 10:29 am #35293
no, i knew the red labels were not. These new versions look virtually identical to the ‘usual’ model have the same part number. i haven’t seen them myself but this info comes from a very reliable source15/02/2017 at 10:36 am #35297
It looks like I’ll be having “fun” tweaking the position of the dish. My first thought was that the dish must have moved in those winds, but since nearby transponders on 2E, F & G still work without any significant change of SQ or SS I hoped it was a temporary problem their end.
Oh well, at least the dish stayed up!15/02/2017 at 10:46 am #35303
Bad news about the Opticums….If you find a LNB with similar performance as the Opticums …can you post the info on here ?…as I replace the LNB every year … don’t wanna buy the new duff version !…..15/02/2017 at 11:54 am #35307
have you kept your ‘old’ ones?? they might have a bit of life left in them…!!!15/02/2017 at 12:16 pm #35309
Yes ….plenty of “old”/one year old ones… and one brand new spare ….. 🙂
