The new season is ever getting closer..
Today force India revealed a pic of their new car for 2014
Mclaren’s new car is being presented live online on Friday …can’t wait….22/01/2014 at 2:21 pm #3253
I see they’ve got a bit of Skoda green in there…..wonder how long it will be before there’s a Skoda F1 car?…..22/01/2014 at 3:07 pm #3261
Skoda (all joking apart) are good cars now…all now are based on VW/Audi platforms..with VW/Audi engines, parts etc..(the same as Seat cars )..!
You never know …VW/Audi might enter F1..in the future…. Especially with the new rules this year ..1.6 turbo engines ..etc….22/01/2014 at 4:05 pm #3268
Yeah, the TSI 1.2 in mine is used in Golfs and Polos etc. The cars are made in the same factory. But there’s a BIG difference in styling…Skoda’s much better 😆
ps I always thought that Polos should have circular sun roofs…is it just me?24/01/2014 at 8:26 am #3332
McLaren are unveiling their new F1 car for 2014….today live on their website at 13-00 CET….I for one, hope its a better car than last years disaster…?…
So give “loose Women” a miss ,today …and check out the new Mclaren F1 motor …!…24/01/2014 at 9:08 am #3336
I am on http://www.mclaren.com/formula1/car/ and it says:
” – join us here at 12pm midday (UK time) on Friday”
and it has a countdown clock ticking away above it. However, the countdown clock is currently showing 1hr 57 minutes………which puts it at 11am !!!
I hope their car building is better than there ability to tell the time!!!24/01/2014 at 11:45 am #3341
Funnily enough, (now that 11am has past), the countdown clock has been reset and now it is showing 21 minutes to go (correctly). Still, doesnt boed well for this season for McLaren.24/01/2014 at 12:10 pm #3344
Well that was an anticlimax!!! No speech, streaming or anything. Just 4 photos.24/01/2014 at 12:44 pm #3345
The New Mclaren looks great ….bit of a strange nose tho……24/01/2014 at 1:59 pm #3351
Interesting to see they havent provided a side view (showing their nose profile) – big talking point of the new rules. Already causing concerns and calling for changes in 2015.25/01/2014 at 9:11 am #3364
Ferrari also due to unveil their new Formula one car online today…..
Let’s hope it’s a little bit more exciting than Mclaren’s presentation yesterday ….??25/01/2014 at 9:39 am #336525/01/2014 at 10:11 am #3366
Cheers for the info Derek…..just had a look ….I thought for a moment you had sent me to the FIAT site by mistake
…..but no,the new Ferrari is named F14-T
Looks like Fiat at first glance 😯 ..
(I’m excitedly waiting for MR DHL postman today…for the delivery of my new “Onkyo TX-8030” Stereo receiver Amplifier).. 🙂 …..25/01/2014 at 10:23 am #3368
TX-8030 a nice piece of equipment Steve – hope you got the black one…!!! Not megawatts but enough to keep the neighbours awake….25/01/2014 at 10:56 am #3370
Yes..it’s the black one….to replace my 23 year old Onkyo amp….they just don’t make things to last anymore do they ? 🙂
Just hoping it gets here before “pick of the pops” starts on Radio 2…. 😀 ….25/01/2014 at 1:33 pm #3379
Soon be time to reveal what car is going to come third this year. Only 3 minutes to go….25/01/2014 at 1:36 pm #3381
P.S I doubt that it being called F14-T is coincidence (for Fiat). It IS a fiat after all.25/01/2014 at 1:40 pm #3383
In fairness I like the fact the have given many different photograph angles – a lot better than McLaren did. But I found it funny how they showed one shot of the side view (engine to left, nose to the right) and then on the next photo, the same angle but from the other side. LIKE THERE WILL BE ANY DIFFERENCE other than the writing of the sponsors.25/01/2014 at 1:54 pm #3386
Absolutely not a technical expert so don’t understand why front wing design of the McLaren seems so much more complicated than that of the Ferrari… Thing that concerns me most about the Ferrari is that the spectacularly unsuccessful Stefano Domenicali is still there leading the team…!!!25/01/2014 at 2:02 pm #3389
Front wing: youre right Derek. You/I/we/anyone reading are NOT an expert and we cant possibly know why they have done what they have done – I guess them secrets and answers are confined to the smoke streams ONLY in the wind tunnel (I havent had my wind tunnel running for some years now. 😉 )
Domenicali: Long live Stefano! He’s doing alright in my books. He keeps asking for Alonso’s
opinionblessing before he appoints drivers (brilliant team leadership there!), and somehow failing to bring Ferrari back to the Brawn years. And whilst he continues like this, they will keep failing.
LONG MAY HE REIGN !!!!!25/01/2014 at 2:04 pm #3390
P.S I CANT STAND Alonso…..and hope that Kimi shows him up this year. That would make me REALLY happy. (Whether this will happen, though, only time will tell).25/01/2014 at 2:24 pm #3393
Yea…Ferrari looks geat too….Tho their interpretation of the new rules…looks a bit different to Mclaren’s…..(don’t forget guys)….These are the presentation cars…and Front wing / nose cone design could change after testing…..in Spain next weekend …..In fact the big teams probably have 3 or 4 wing/nose designs ready to test..?…..
Yea…….Lets hope “Kimi” does it……….But “Williams” are my favourite even tho they have been totally useless for the last 10years…. 🙁25/01/2014 at 2:24 pm #3394
If you watch the Ferrari video, you will see at 1m20secs in that they are selecting the name (F14-T) as a result of a vote system (32%). And I wonde what people they have asked whether they like the FIA-T looking name or not (that made it the most popular)? Wouldnt be FIAT employees by chance, would it?!25/01/2014 at 2:30 pm #3396
I agree with EVERYTHING you said in your last post Steve.25/01/2014 at 2:47 pm #3398
OK jim…..no need to shout…..at least we have 2 Williams fans on here then 😉 …?….or are you just making a joke with me Jim…?…
Anyway the new “Onkyo TX-8030” amp arrived this afternoon. 🙂 🙂 …..
Giving it a test with “Muse” & “Deep Purple”…..
PS Where has the photo gallery Gone ?……Has it been moved somewhere or removed…?
