On my last visit to the Algarve – Armacao de Pera abot 2 weeks ago people with A Sky paid for subscription were still getting ITV channels (not ITV 1 but 2, 3, etc) . Is this a solution if you can live without BBC. Is it worth me subscribing to Sky tv in the uk & bringing my box & card with me.
    Is this likely to continue?

Nearly all Sky Subscription Channels are on The strong Europe Beam…(apart from Disney ch I think ?)…..and its gonna stay that way……! ….Only the UK PSB are on the difficult 2F / 2 E spot beam..

If you want some UK tv in the Algarve ….then yes…. its a option to pay for Sky tv…..But you will also need the Sky HD pack to receive ITV 2 3 4 HD & Ch5 HD

If the buildings Sattelite Dish is big enough and is pointing at Astra 28,2 … and you are absolutely sure others have Sky UK reception from the same Dish…. and a output cable from the Dish…. is available to you ?…..It Should work ok………

Ps…Astra 2G launches soon…some Sky Channels will transfer From The old 2A satellite… to the new 2G satellite…More than likely the Pan Europe Beam…..So it shouldn’t be a prob….
