Nice pic ..Derek…are old Honda motorbikes valuable…?..I have 3 non runners in my shed..(That I inherited) …(not sure of the model numbers) ….I was gonna scrap them ….
Cold rainy …8 deg …..;-(03/11/2013 at 5:49 pm #1123
To keep on track, it’s been a beautiful day here on Lake Maggiore and we reached 17° in the shade. Steve, depends on the model – some Hondas can be valuable but I can’t give mine away..!! So it stays in the garage as a perch for pretty birds.04/11/2013 at 5:24 pm #1187

Really beautiful day in Bournemouth at 13:30 but only 10°C . Magnificent view of the New Forest, Pompey, and IoW. Landed in Carcassonne 1hr 20mins later – chucking it down and windy. Have I come to the right place?? At least it was 2°C warmer.05/11/2013 at 8:36 am #1206

Overcast and 19 degs in San Marcello,Italy.Rained a bit in the last 2 days so glad we got the olives picked,125 Kg.Off to the mill this week.Derek, will be trying out the card you sent me soon, when 1N goes. What sort of reception do you get on 19 deg E with your 1m dish?Am hoping my 90cm will be ok cos am not happy putting the 1.2m on a motor.05/11/2013 at 10:34 am #1212
Ciao Mark, you have obviously missed some of my recent history…!!! I have ADDED an 80 cm dish specifically for 19E and was getting a good signal until sunday whilst watching F1 on RTL. The signal slowly faded and then disappeared. No time yet to check but I guess either the cable to LNB has loosened (maybe I forgot to tighten it!!) or the LNB has seen better days. Will keep you posted.06/11/2013 at 8:43 am #1232
Finally got the wifi code……….:-)…hello everyone from Covent garden, London…14 deg and overcast ….:-(…not to worry.!..London eye,Thames river boat trip and Madame tussauds wax works..planed for today….06/11/2013 at 9:59 am #1238
Sounds good Steve. If you’re up for it(I’m not and excuse the pun) then try the viewing tower on Shard.Only trouble is it’s £30 for adults, £24 for children and the building is 306m tall!
Weather in San Marcello,Italy is glorious today, sunny, bright blue sky and 21 degs06/11/2013 at 11:02 am #1241
warm, windy but dry in the Aude France.06/11/2013 at 12:59 pm #1244
warm sunny 27c in nerja southern spain06/11/2013 at 1:29 pm #1245
Also on lake Maggiore, beautiful day after cloudy start but “only” 17° in the shade. Probably Steve has more interesting things on his mind but, for the record, 19°E problem solved. I obviously did not tighten the bolts enough and lost 1° of elevation = q dropped from 100 to 55..!! After adjustment, I have s75/q100 with 80cm dish and usual Humax HD5600S.09/11/2013 at 10:01 am #1312
Weather in San Marcello is slightly overcast and 22 degs.Winter should be here soon.Haven’t even lit the wood fire yet,our only form of heating.
So Derek, what bikes do you have now and what have you had.Mine go like this: ’77 Honda CB 200,’78 Honda 400/4, ’81 Ducati 900ss, ’92 Ducati 888 and in ’96 I had a new model 900ss.Nothing now though. No money for such luxuries!lol09/11/2013 at 11:08 am #1315
Ciao Mark, sunny with broken cloud on lake Maggiore but only 14° at the moment. I haven’t lit the fire yet, too lazy, it’s much easier to up the thermostat (and reduce the bank balance..!!). My list of bikes is very limited – started in 1959, at 16, with an Excelsior 250 Talisman Twin until I could drive a car. Long wait until 1978 when I bought the ’73 Honda 350/4 (which I still have). In 2000 I went off-road with a Yamaha TW 125 and in 2004 I treated myself to a new Honda CBF600 which I still use regularly. You see I’m not the sporty type like you..!!09/11/2013 at 11:18 am #1317
Ciao Derek, Nice bikes, especially the Excelsior, never heard of one before.Bet you wished you’d kept it.
The 888 I had was very sporty,0-60 in under 4secs and I had it up to 150mph once….but I didn’t go too crazy!09/11/2013 at 12:59 pm #1318
Mark, if 150 mph is not crazy, what is…??? I’ve had the CBF up to 160 (but k, not m) and it seemed quite fast enough to me….!!!!09/11/2013 at 2:47 pm #1320
(Nice Pics ..Derek.. and great you got your dish sorted with a easy fix.. )….I’m back from London today……Great time was had… (Apart from the Thunder and lightning storms yesterday)…but ” Mave” it was a bit to cloudy for the “Shard”……but thanks anyway for for the top tip 🙂 …..12 Deg cloudy ..here in Muniich……10/11/2013 at 8:51 am #1326

Perfect weather in Crete. clear blue skies, no wind, 22C. Perfect reception!10/11/2013 at 3:42 pm #1334
10 degrees and a damp day here in Northern Tuscany. Enjoyed Quo last night, jealous of Steve going to a band, Oh the joy of live music! Enjoy Steve!10/11/2013 at 7:19 pm #1337
Didn’t watch Quo last night – exhausted from a day of MotoGP, ATP tennis and International rugby…!!!! Made me remember why I installed my dish in the first place – NOT to spend all the time measuring signal strength and quality. Enjoy the concert Steve!!
By the way, clear skies and windy here with 10°C at 8pm.11/11/2013 at 9:42 am #1340
Thanks guys…it was a good gig last night .:-)…..6 deg and sunny here….ok ish weather for me to continue with the gearbox..:-(….
Am I right in thinking ..that’s the end of moto GP on the BBC..?…isn’t it on BT sport next year..?11/11/2013 at 10:41 am #1341
Didn’t know that Steve – hopefully I can still get it on “Italia 1” but it won’t be the same without Charlie and Steve…!!! Sunny and windy on Lake Maggiore, warming up nicely at 14°…..
