Hey Waggy, that’s a big number in my friend’s spectrum, but I guess it also depends on distance and depth from the epicentre. Rather than his dishes (satellite and porcelain), he’s been exceedingly happy when his house hasn’t fallen in completely on him a few times – usually overnight. His last was a rather close 6.9. He is mindful that a 7.2 flattened Kefalonia completely in 1953 with hundreds of casualties. It doesn’t half take the gloss off his “Island of Dreamsâ€. I didn’t even know that Spain was also afflicted.04/02/2016 at 1:35 pm #28347
Blowing an absolute hooley here today but sunny off for a drive down the coast to torrox for a coffee the owner will have his malaga earthquake site on to tell us how many since we went yesterday  very interesting indeed13/02/2016 at 2:53 pm #28448
Seemes like the first day of Summer here…. 18c in the shade and sunny….well weird as they are predicting 4c on Tuesday!!!13/02/2016 at 6:34 pm #28457

Has been heads in the clouds/drizzle rain here for a week. Possible clear sky tomorrow late afternoon says my Dutch weather forecast. Let’s see whether we can Pick-up BBC again during the day.21/02/2016 at 12:44 pm #28517
Beautiful day here in N. Italy, sunny blue sky, lightest of breezes and temperature of 15° in the shade – winter has given us a miss so far this year 🙂 .21/02/2016 at 4:47 pm #28523
Brill here too near Carcassonne Derek – 20°C and little wind. Gone straight from “can’t be bothered doing anything because it’s too cold” to “can’t be bothered doing anything because it’s too nice”. Any excuse at my age.22/02/2016 at 5:43 am #28535
Just had a week of winter high winds and plenty of rain looks better this wek 20c plus sun fingers crossed29/02/2016 at 12:46 pm #28620
I guess Monty, what you’ve lost in signal this morning (Sun Outage), you’ve made up for in wind down where you are. Bit draughty here.
PS. What Sun?29/02/2016 at 12:53 pm #28622
luckily RLB is a little sheltered…. weird having a ‘Sun Outage’ in dim grey conditions…. Glad i got the new Bracketry up for the Dish… seems to be nice and Solid!!! going to be mainly Windy for the next week or so….29/02/2016 at 3:37 pm #28647
Cold /rainy /Sleet here…..just horrid …but….signal fab 🙂 ……29/02/2016 at 6:03 pm #28663
My dish just iced up, covered in a nice knobbly layer of ice.03/03/2016 at 8:59 am #28737
Never mind the weather, did you have an earthquake last night Monty? Apparently centred between Quillan and Montségur.03/03/2016 at 10:10 am #28739
No, didn’t feel it, but with the House ‘Rocking and Rolling’ in the mad Winds i think it would have needed to be 10 on the Rhicter Scale…08/04/2016 at 12:01 pm #29809
chilly and overcast at only 9 deg ….was 22 deg  last week ….
at least is not raining 🙂 …..
So i can now start to get my “Camper Van” ready for the Dreaded TUV test (German MOT) 🙁08/04/2016 at 4:35 pm #29811
possibly time to start thinking/planning adding my 2nd LNB “on the squint†to the Gibby for astra 1 19,2 reception……
Hi Steve, any progress on the squint, or is TUVing the camper van taking priority at the mo??
Also here, colder than recently but still 15° – cold weekend is forecast but return to warmer weather next week 🙂09/04/2016 at 9:15 am #29821
Yes the 2nd LNB for 19.2 has been added …….with 2 metal brackets …carefully bent to the position needed… and a old LNB holder i had bolted on , the cables was already there from when i was using a Octo LNB …….. so cost me nothing 🙂 … …..and works brill…. all 19.2 channels are easy 100Q 🙂 …
and got a new Opticum 9\16 Multiswitch with 16 outputs of 28.2 and 19.2……… so I can now get rid of the old dish for 19.2 on the house and all the external Diseqc switches ..
btw …the dish was not moved in any way at all !……..so the 2nd LNB has no affect on 28.2 reception!…..09/04/2016 at 1:21 pm #29826
Nice job Steve 🙂09/04/2016 at 2:31 pm #29829
Great picture, with a 1.5M dish bet the 19.2E is really bursting at the seams! … probably reading 200% signal … if it could be read!09/04/2016 at 5:16 pm #29831
But..less signal than Sky News on 28.2 for example….as the 19.2 LNB is set to the left ….its a compromise…… its not recieving full signal from the 1.5m dish area.!… possibly equivalent to a 80 or 100 cm…not sure ?…
…sorry  the pic was a bit shit…..Ill do some better pics next week…if it stops raining………13/04/2016 at 4:16 pm #29872
Big fat thunder storm at the mo …. = no signal 🙁 Â …… and my camper van failed its MOT …. 🙁 Â 🙁 Â ……some welding needed …..16/05/2016 at 4:16 pm #30714
Just horrible …cold and wet …typical bank holiday weather 🙁 …..
ps …. Got myself a MIG welder and Gas bottle from amazon de….. and done the welding myself………the camper van now has a nice 2 year MOT (TUV)…. happy days indeed ………..Le Mans 24hr …here i come … :-)))))) ….
Signal very good too……….16/05/2016 at 5:27 pm #30716
Finally improving after today… been horrid.16/05/2016 at 5:52 pm #30718
ok here guys sunny and warm after a total shite week  keep smiling16/05/2016 at 7:30 pm #30720
Very therapeutic is welding. You’ll be ready for the road then Steve. There’s a vacant slot on the roads now, as I’m just back from a siw week caravan tour. 6012 kms covered, while the caravan (and cat) managed 4329kms. Weather included gales, blizzards, duststorms (off ploughed fields), hard frosts, more gales and of course torrential rains and quagmire . . . . Yes, it must have been the UK, England and Scotland both.
Sat reception was very sporadic, brill at times but with total failure to gain any picture on some occasions, despite an apparently strong signal, and for no apparent reason. Never got to the bottom of it. More tests required now I’m home. Suspect the ancient LNB.
